A HANDBOOK FOR BOTH PARENTS AND STUDENTS.
Welcome!
We welcome back our continuing students and extends a very warm welcome to our new students and their families.
Our teaching staff led by Artistic Director Louise Taitz have been carefully selected and are all experienced and well
known teachers and dancers in the Chicagoland area.
Reminders and notices are made via e-mail to please keep us updated with any email address changes.
“On Your Toes Academy of Dance” was opened in the fall 2002 by Louise Taitz, a former professional ballerina.
The studio philosophy is to instill a “love of dance while developing a good stolid and strong technical foundation.”
There are many different styles of dance offered which are taught by teachers who are experts in their fields.
We are also home to the award winning “On Your Toes Dance Company” and “Zero Gravity Hip Hop Company”.
YOU THE PARENT.
We are here to work with you to ensure that your child's learning experience at the studio is a positive one. We
maintain an open door of communication with all parents and encourage parents to communicate with us any
concerns they may have. Ultimately all decisions re training are made by the dance staff whose goal is to ensure that
every dancer succeeds. We all show respect for each other, showing respect to the parents, students and faculty
makes an impression on the dancer.

ever Performance Awards in May 2008, This program was met with delight by our dancers and much pleasure by
our parents. From Kindergarten Ballet up to Ballet Intensive classes. The Performance Awards are taught. The
program consists of a dance composition followed by a solo dance which the dancers perform on stage in front of a
judge sent by the Academy. All dancers are acknowledged for their work with a certificate and either a bronze,
silver or gold medal is awarded.
